What’s up with this Twitter???

Have you ever wondered what this Twitter was all about. Twitter allows you to share the world around you in 140 characters or less.
There are companies that use it for promotional ideas such as:
Nikon Festival
They advertise specials, and promos, as well as information regarding the festival. You can keep up with athlete’s and celebrities such as Tony Hawk. You can find his twitter at:

You can see up in the top right hand corner that the account has been verified, meaning that it is Tony Hawk, the Pro skater’s account. Not some punk teenager thinking they are cool. You can read Tony Hawk’s post, and see what he is up to. One thing that is cool is that he is into creating fundraisers for skate parks.
Band’s use Twitter to promote their upcoming shows, and tours. You can check out one of these bands at:
We Came as Romans
They started a tour out and have been tweeting about the tour on every leg. They came through our home town, and they were amazing.
You can see the possibilities of Twitter. At first you think that you can’t really say much in 140 characters, but you would be surprised at what the possibilities are. There are also services as Twit Pic That will allow you to post a link to a picture in your Twitter status update.

If you would like to post a link in your status update you can use Tiny URL This will allow you to shrink a url to post into your Twitter status. That way you can have a link that is longer than 140 characters it will shrink it, and allow you to still post a comment.

With Twitter you can use it to keep in touch with friends, or family. You can use it to see what others are up to. and to keep other’s up to date on your status.

Is Twitter going to be the next Social Network, I don’t know however it’s starting to turn into a great Social Networking Tool. Maybe even better than Myspace, or Facebook.
